西班牙馬德里（Madrid）的研究人員已創造出一種3D生物列印機（3D bioprinter）的原型，可生產實際功能如同真皮膚的合成皮，這種人造皮如同真人皮膚，分為表層、中間層，以及由可製造膠原蛋白（collagen）、讓人造皮有彈性的纖維母細胞（fibroblast cell）組成的第三層。這項新技術未來有可能被用來製造燒傷病患的移植用皮膚，也可被化妝品與藥劑公司大量生產來測試商品，為動物實驗提供低成本的替代方法。

Scientists from the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) have developed a prototype bioprinter that can 3D print functioning skin cells.
